UChicago Medicine Medical Group seeks an exceptional Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (PA) for Flossmoor and Ingalls Memorial Hospital location in Harvey, Illinois.
Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (PA) Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams.
- Formulates a treatment plan for Orthopaedic problems within scope of practice.
- Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate.
- Exercises judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals.
- Orders, collects, and performs appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures, and studies.
- Assists in surgery and conducts hospital, rounds and writes orders.
- Evaluates and clarifies clinical conditions, formulates and implements a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients, dictates discharge summaries, histories and physicals.
- Orders, prescribes and administers medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other Orthopaedic devices as may be allowed by state legislation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistant Programs.
- Physician Assistant in Medicine, Licensed (IL).
- A minimum of two years of orthopaedic experience is preferred.
