Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (PA), Job, UCM Care Network

UChicago Medicine Medical Group seeks an exceptional Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (PA) for Flossmoor and Ingalls Memorial Hospital location in Harvey, Illinois. 

 

Orthopaedic Physician Assistant (PA) Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Performs comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams.
  • Formulates a treatment plan for Orthopaedic problems within scope of practice.
  • Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate.
  • Exercises judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals.
  • Orders, collects, and performs appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures, and studies.
  • Assists in surgery and conducts hospital, rounds and writes orders.
  • Evaluates and clarifies clinical conditions, formulates and implements a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients, dictates discharge summaries, histories and physicals.
  • Orders, prescribes and administers medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other Orthopaedic devices as may be allowed by state legislation.

Required Skills and Qualifications 

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physician Assistant Programs.
  • Physician Assistant in Medicine, Licensed (IL).
  • A minimum of two years of orthopaedic experience is preferred.
